Because I was frustrated…
I was frustrated by websites’ complexities and high prices that small organisations and charities had to face; getting a fit for purpose and reasonably priced site is perhaps one of the most frustrating parts of starting a business.
As a senior technologist (see LinkedIn) with extensive experience in managing IT solutions for big companies, I knew there was a better way. Most small businesses’ needs are simple, and consequently their websites must be easy to manage and low cost.
There did not seem to be anyone else doing anything about it, so I created Upperdrive (originally named “Digital Tugboat”), to empower small businesses and charities on the digital eco-system of the web.
Our Mission
We provide cost-effective, yet purposeful, web presence to busy people who have a lot of other obligations and need to focus on what is essential.
We build, host, and maintain, affordable pay monthly websites for small businesses and charities so they can focus on their ideas of business.
